Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a biologically active substance derived from a person’s own blood that promotes healing and growth. Blood is made up of plasma and three types of blood cells; red blood cells which carry oxygen; white blood cells which help fight infections; and platelets which are responsible for clotting, scab formation and wound healing. PRP is simply blood that has been specially processed to remove most of the red and white blood cells, leaving behind a concentrated, platelet rich plasma solution containing between five to ten times the normal concentration of platelets. So PRP is simply that; plasma that has a very high concentration of platelets!

PRP has been used successfully to promote healing and growth in orthopaedic surgery, dental surgery, and dermatologic surgery for many years. Recently, PRP has been introduced into the field of hair with the hope of stimulating hair growth.

The platelet-rich plasma is the injected into the patient’s scalp amongst the thinning hair to benefit hair growth. Similar to low level laser therapy, PRP is of most benefit in thinning areas of hair, but beyond a certain level of hair loss it hasn’t been shown to have any meaningful effect.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) uses a fine needle to draw long-lasting or semi-permanent cosmetic tattoos on the scalp that mimic the look of closely shaven hair.

This creates the illusion of fuller hair with more density and is a great option for anyone who doesn’t want to have transplant surgery, who is not a good candidate for transplant surgery or those who wear their hair very closely cropped or shaved.

If SMP is something you are interested in, please book a consultation with me to discuss your options.

Hair Transplant Surgery

For some people, hair transplant surgery may be the right option for managing their hair loss. As the name suggests, this is a sterile surgical procedure performed in an operating theatre by some of the best surgeons in the world.

Hair restoration surgery has undergone a revolution in the last 20 years. When this procedure was first performed, large punch grafts were used to transplant hair from the safe donor zone into the areas of hair loss. But this led to the “pluggy” and unnatural appearance, which is not what we aim for.  For the first time, we could replace hair and create results so natural, they were virtually undetectable, even under close examination. Follicular Unit Transplantation or the exclusive use of 1-3 hair follicular unit (FU) grafts became the state-of-the-art technique used in hair restoration surgery.

If hair transplantation is something you are interested in, please book a consultation with me to discuss your options.

Low Light Laser Hair Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) uses photo biomechanics to stimulate hair growth. This works by exposing the scalp to a certain light frequency that penetrates the skin and stimulates the cells below to make more protein and prolongs the anagen phase of hair growth.

Keratin is a protein that is a vital component of hair so using LLLT regularly can result in thicker, stronger hair growth. DalyHair is pleased to offer the Laser device with the most evidence.

Fagron Genetic Testing

Fagron TrichoTest™ is a genetic test for hair loss that looks at gene variations and lifestyle factors so that we can personalise your hair loss treatment and ensure that what we offer will be of maximum benefit.

Studies show there is a relationship between your genetic profile and how your hair loss responds to
different types of treatment. This means not all hair loss treatments work for everybody and the success of any given treatment is dependent on your genetic profile and lifestyle factors.

Thanks to the unique analysis performed by Fagron TrichoTest™ we can identify which hair loss treatments are most likely to provide the best results for you.

The process is simple and the test can be taken by anyone – book your consultation here.
